Whimsy, delight and a beautiful kinetic momentum...
some lovely movements of suspension and surprise."

Strangely inspired in a paralyzing sweat driving rural highway 40 between Savannah and Atlanta, Tragediety is an absurd rendering of commonly kind behavior.  A feverish boredom sparked coy images and a spunky, yet inconvenient coupling.  Passively resigned to interacting, this duet demonstrates interpersonal depth by uncovering and elevating everyday emotions.  Through both the awkwardness and grace of movement, pain is not always apparent and maybe bliss is not ignorant, nor shallow or so easily attained. The chanting of Ute Lemper mixed with music by Elf Power lifts the work into a sublime state where Brown and duet partner, Emma Stewart-Teitelbaum illustrate a dangerously happy space through both active and passive partnering.  The thematic work is neither purposely desolate, nor serendipitous, but comfortably changing.
